Foster Parents / Caregivers
This role is under the Care & Therapy Programme (click here to find out more).
The Care & Therapy programme is a residential programme, whereby the young people live with paid members of the community who are employed by Reconnect as Caregivers. This role involves having a young person in your house, and treating them as if they were your own.
Often these kids have been in the system for years, and are either involved with Care & Protection and/or Youth Justice orders. The programme aims to transition young people back to their whanau and communities. Our trained therapists achieve this by working with the families over 12 months to change the environment and improve the functioning of the home environment.
