Reconnect Caregiver Support
Undertakes the recruitment, training, support and monitoring of individual caregivers for Reconnect and any associated programme work.
The Care Team
This is the caregiver recruitment and support arm of the residential programme.
Our mission is to provide quality care for young people on the programme as well as support and training for the caregivers providing placements.
The team is made up of Care coordinator, Sheldene Crookes and two Care Social workers, Justine Hayes and Diana Pavic as well as a team of enthusiastic caregivers and respite caregivers.
What is a caregiver?
A caregiver is someone who has a passion for young people and wants to use their experience as a mum, dad, nana, Koro to make a difference in a young person’s life by offering a loving home while they are on the residential programme.
Who can be a caregiver?
Anyone can become a caregiver as long as you have a heart for young people and the ability to see them reach their potential. You will need a spare room and loads of time and patience. We prefer our young person to be the youngest in your family.
What we achieve
A well recruited, supported and trained caregiver enhances the outcomes for troubled young people. Reconnect provides a robust care support system for both care & protection and youth justice clients.
