Partners Supporting Reconnect to Help Young People
Reconnect Family Services could not do the work it does without the support of individuals and organisations who help fund our activities.
If you are inspired by the idea of helping young people to fulfil their potential, and are able to offer us financial support please contact us to discuss how you can assist. As a registered charity, all donations to Reconnect Family Services are tax-deductible.
Some of our current funders:
Elaine Gurr Endowment Trust
Reconnect has benefited tremendously over many years from the kind support of The Elaine Gurr Endowment Trust, administered by Guardian Trust.
Funding support has assisted with sports and recreation equipment for our young people, the development of new initiatives and general operating costs across all our programmes.
We acknowledge the generosity of spirit of Elaine Gurr and look to use funding support wisely with the children and young people with whom we work.
NZ Lottery Grants Board
The NZ Lottery Grants Board has supported Reconnect over many years. This significant support has gone into a range of service provision including staff training and supervision and the development of a specific care support initiative within Reconnect.
The support with these initiatives has been crucial to the incremental improvement of service delivery. A recent initiative supported, has been a project around the transitioning of clients on supported bail from the Reconnect Supported Bail Programme.
Foundation North (formerly the ASB Community Trust) has supported Reconnect Family Trust for many years provided funding for operating costs and for specific projects. A recent example of this is the support received for Reconnect’s Korowai Mentoring project in terms of programme equipment. This support helps provide a basis for better programme outcomes.
The Lion Foundation
The Lion Foundation has provided solid support to Reconnect via the provision of funding to enhance the sporting and recreational environment for the young people on our programme. Sporting gear purchased had been well received and utilized by our clients.
This type of support will greatly enhance the work of our new Activities Coordinator whose role is to develop social and recreational options for the young people in Reconnect’s care via an individualised plan. The support of agencies such as The Lion Foundation assists significantly with these processes.
Maurice Paykel Charitable Trust
The Maurice Paykel Charitable Trust has provided very helpful support to Reconnect through the provision of funding towards upgrading of furniture and equipment.
In addition, the trust has funded an initiative to enable clients with Reconnect to access swimming tuition. This support is appreciated.
Vodafone NZ Foundation
Vodafone New Zealand Foundation funded the implementation of our Vocational Mentoring programme and provided financial support for 2 years worth of development of the programme.
Reconnect Family Services is very appreciative of this as it provided the base for the capability to undertake Fresh Start mentoring referrals from CYF/MSD as well as continuing the acceptance of public referrals.
Child Youth and Family
Both directly with sites but more prominently via the funding arm of the Ministry of Social Development, Child Youth & Family is a key stakeholder for Reconnect.
Child Youth & Family clients are the key target population for Reconnect, and we engage through most of our programmes. We are very appreciative of the support of Child Youth & Family and MSD.
